Madison's Birthday in the Park

One of Violet's friends, Madison, had her 3rd birthday party at the park. We tagged along. Adele has overcome her fear of the slide, and loved swinging. She liked it so much that we went back to the park the following day so Adam could see Adele's progress (he was working the day we went to the party). Some of these pictures were taken by Bethany, Violet's mom.

All about Adele ...
Here are some things that I think are pretty darn cute:
- Adele likes to sit on the floor and spin herself around (360 style) and say "hum, hum, hum."'
- When she's eating she does a combination of baby signs, including "more" and "all done." It's quite confusing.
- She hasn't learned how to be gentle with Angie. I'm glad Angie can tolerate ear pulling, neck grabbing, and paw stretching. She also wants to put her shoes on Angie.
- She likes to follow Adam around the house. When he leaves the living room and walks into the bedroom she tries to follow him ... and she walks super fast (almost to the point where she's going to fall).
- She's learning a little about rhythm. When music is playing she'll bob her head back and forth a little bit. Her shoulders also kind of weave in and out. I'm working with her to try to dance, dance, dance.

One Small Step For Adele...
Adele has bravely taken a few steps here and there, from support object to support object, but these are her first few long distance solo flights...

Floor-ios
I was preparing a to-go pack of Cheerios and I spilled some on the floor. Adam was on the couch when Adele started eating them. It was so cute that we decided to let her eat them. Adam's dubbed them as "Floor-ios."

Swimming with Magaret & Andrew
We tried to get Adele to wear a life vest. I wanted her to wear it to give me a break from holding her, and for her to start kicking and splashing more independently. It didn't go well. The vest we have is too small, and it was bothering her due to not enough neck room. Once we took it off she had a great time.

Little Jay's Birthday Party
After dipping with Daddy we had a birthday party to go to. Adam enjoyed the jumping thing (whatever those are called) and Adele enjoyed the chocolate cake. Mmmm. Afterwards she practiced walking. Yes ... she is walking on the asphalt in her white socks. I know ... I know. But what do you think Shout is for?
